Classical Crisis! James Levine is scheduled to conduct the Boston Symphony Orchestra in Mahler's larger-than-life "Resurrection" Symphony to kick off a demanding schedule of summer concerts at Tanglewood. But back surgery — the latest in a list of ailments that have plagued the music director of both the BSO and the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra — have left Tanglewood in limbo. A spokesperson says the BSO will know in June whether the Maestro will take the baton for this or any of his other Tanglewood appearances.
