Be My Baby by The Ronettes

The pinnacle of Phil Spector's production career was used as the opening music for both Mean Streets and Dirty Dancing — so at the very least you know it's got emotional range. It's also got overwhelming power. Ronnie Spector turns a teenage crush into something so monumental that a Wall of Sound is barely enough to do it justice. Not just the best love song ever made, probably the best pop song, too.
