No More Lifetime Limits

Policy: Prevents insurers from setting a cap on the amount of reimbursements they will pay out for a given policy and patient.

Caveat: Annual limits will still be permitted until 2014, although the Department of Health and Human Services will "restrict" these limits.

TBD: How HHS will restrict annual limits and how much premiums may rise as a result of the ban on lifetime limits, which financially protect insurers from massive outlays for expensive illnesses like cancer.
