Poles Apart

Poland has gone through about as bad a week as could possibly be imagined. And now travel delays are wreaking havoc as the country attempts to lay to rest the late President Lech Kaczynski and his wife. In the U.K., the Duchess of Cornwall had to cancel a visit to a Polish cultural center in London, where she was to sign a book of condolence, because she was unable to fly from Scotland. As for the funeral itself, among those who are expected to attend are President Barack Obama, Russian President Dmitri Medvedev and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. But with Poland's closing most of its airspace, doubts remain as to whether the world leaders will be able to make it.
