Jamie Dimon

Citigroup head honcho Sandy Weill fired protégé Jamie Dimon in 1998. A decade later, with financial firms falling left and right, Dimon was practically the only one on Wall Street whose position was secure. As chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase, he acquired Bear Stearns and Washington Mutual — and gained fans in the nation's capital along the way.
