Kobe Beef (Japan)

True Kobe beef comes from Wagyu cattle raised in Hyogo, Japan. The expensive, bright red meat, marbled with pure white fat, is prized internationally for its succulent flavor. Rumor has it that Kobe ranchers include beer in the Wagyu cattle diet to increase fat retention and give the babied bovines massages with sake to enhance the distinctive marbling of Kobe beef.
