In the lead-up to his presidential bid, Illinois Senator Barack Obama was criticized for his youth and inexperience. But one indiscretion that got little traction was his past drug use — likely because he beat everyone to the punch. The future President admitted to experimenting with marijuana and cocaine as a teenager in his 1995 book Dreams From My Father, long before anyone bothered to ask. On a 2007 visit to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Obama was asked by the late-night host about his drug use. "Remember, Senator, you are under oath. Did you inhale?" Obama replied, "That was the point."
