Stephen Edward Tatro
Stephen Edward Tatro — wanted for killing his business partner Daniel Duran with a hunting rifle in 1997 — has the dubious distinction of being the only fugitive America's Most Wanted has ever caught twice. Just six hours before the show featured him in April 2000, a few vigilant viewers recognized him from promotional spots and tipped off police. Tatro was arrested but escaped from a hospital that August after feigning a heart attack. After AMW featured him again on Dec. 30, 2000, tips led investigators to his hideout at an Arizona ranch. Tatro was convicted of murder in 2001 and sentenced to 50 years in prison.
