Gosselin vs. Gosselin

Take two young parents with eight children and add in a TV crew meant to capture the family's most personal moments — what could possibly go wrong? For two years, Jon and Kate Gosselin made it work, and Jon & Kate Plus Eight was one of the highest-rated shows on the cable network TLC. But problems started bubbling up in the spring, when photographs of Jon with another woman began showing up on the Internet. By May, the couple was talking about splitting up; divorce papers were filed in June. After that, the marital split took a turn for the malicious, with the couple lashing out at each other in competing interviews and publicly sparring about money. In late September, TLC announced that the series would be renamed Kate Plus Eight, with a smaller role for Jon, but filming of the kids stopped days later after the network received a cease-and-desist order from their father. The final episode of Jon & Kate aired on Nov. 23.
