Shortsgate
She was merely taking a quick tour of the Grand Canyon in August with her family, but Michelle Obama sparked a fury of debate when she descended from Air Force One in hiking shorts. Mind you, these were not Daisy Dukes. And yet the First Lady's vacation attire inspired thousands of bloggers to weigh in on her right to bare legs. Could we imagine Laura Bush or Hillary Clinton doing the same? Maybe not. But the First Lady has made it perfectly clear that when it comes to wardrobe choices, she is hewing to her own casual style.
