Not Exactly Twins

Did you know that a pregnant woman can get pregnant again while she still has a bun in the oven? Neither did we, but apparently it's possible. Arkansas resident Julia Grovenburg knew she was pregnant, but when she got an ultrasound, her doctor announced that she was carrying two babies who were not twins. The male fetus was said to have been conceived 2½ weeks after the female fetus. Only post-delivery tests can confirm the doctor's suspicions, but if they're true, Grovenburg is experiencing what's called superfetation, an extremely rare condition in which a pregnant woman conceives again. One baby's due date is in December 2009. The other? January 2010.
