Chris Dodd (Connecticut)

Just two years ago, Senator Chris Dodd was dreaming big in Iowa, touring the state with his wife and children in an audacious bid to run for President. But the news since then has been consistently grim, with a scandal over his mortgage and his ties to disgraced financial firms like AIG. As of September, a Quinnipiac poll found that 49% of his state disapproved of his performance, an improvement over the 58% disapproval rating in March. Dodd has been campaigning nonstop for more than a year, and he benefits from a divided GOP field. But there is still a long way for Dodd, who is vying for his sixth term, to go before he escapes the shadow of his father Senator Thomas Dodd, who lost re-election in 1970 after two terms in office.
