How Far Can Favre Go?

It's a textbook example of not quitting while you're ahead. The Packers' beloved quarterback shocked fans last year when he elected not to end his career in the town he'd played 15 seasons in, but rather to quit Green Bay for New York at age 38. After his single season with the Jets imploded down the playoff stretch, Favre now takes his chances with the Packers' NFC North division rivals the Minnesota Vikings. Beyond the question of how much gas Favre has left in the tank — he turns 40 in October — it's worth asking whether Vikings head coach Brad Childress may have actually weakened his shot at a Super Bowl ring by relying on the veteran's rusty arm instead of trusting last year's rushing leader, Adrian Peterson, to carry the rock.
