Human studies show an increased risk of birth defects, but the drug's benefits may outweigh that risk

Examples: tetracycline (antibiotic); Cytoxan (chemotherapy)

Fact: After 30 weeks of pregnancy, ibuprofen can cause fetal death and thus should vault to D status, but a national drug database does not note the switch
