Wilco's Wilco (The Album)

Available June 30

In a brilliant branding move — or a breakthrough in lazy titling — Wilco has called its seventh album Wilco (The Album) and recorded a track called "Wilco (The Song)." Most of the work was done in New Zealand at the studio of Kiwi pop legend Neil Finn (Crowded House, Split Enz), but don't think for a moment that Wilco has suddenly gone radio friendly. Instead, the band says it focused on studio experimentation — a fancy way of saying they played with knobs and dials. For human companionship, singer Jeff Tweedy recruited Feist to do a duet called "You and I."
