Santiago, Chile

At 980 feet, It was designed to be the tallest tower in South America. But due to economic conditions, work on the Chilean capital's Torre Gran Costanera has been halted at 22 stories. Designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli (the same architects responsible for the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur), the 60-story tower was due to be completed next year.
