In an effort to save face after numerous inquisitions by the International community into Iran's developing nuclear program, President Ahmadinejad went on a worldwide media blitz, trying to convince anyone who would listen that Iran's nuclear program was innocent and geared towards developing energy — not weapons. However, during a July 28th, 2008 interview with NBC's Brian Williams, Ahmadinejad's "serious afterthought" on the matter quickly became a pop-culture hit- — emblazoned on t-shirts and kitsch memorabilia around the U.S.
