Pro: Stole an election, violently cracked down on the opposition, reneged on a power sharing agreement: perhaps no single dictator ruined a country like Mugabe and his minions did in Zimbabwe this year. So yes, he's influential.

Con: After months of turmoil, finally agreed to share power with opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai, so his dictatorial influence could soon fade.
