Vice-Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin

Charismatic, bold, compelling — she drew huge crowds and loads of media coverage, but much of the former represented the reliable Republican base and much of the latter was bitingly unfavorable. She too often engaged in high-profile disagreements with her own campaign and didn't adapt her style or sensibilities to the more challenging aspects of a crash course in national politics.
