Weirdest foreclosure victim: a 44-lb. cat

This colossal kitty, known as Prince Chunk, has had his 15 minutes for sure. Actually, about 10 of those minutes were spent under the guise of Princess Chunk before people realized the 44-lb. cat was a boy. The fatty feline, who is about two pounds shy of the world record for heaviest cat, got a big heave-ho from his owner in New Jersey when she lost her home to foreclosure and could no longer afford to feed him. She gave the cat to a friend, who in turn gave him to an animal shelter. His astounding girth helped the newly nicknamed Prince Chunk (his previous owner called him Powder) make his way on to Good Morning America, Live with Regis and Kelly and Fox News. And the media blitz worked like a charm: more than 400 families applied to adopt him, and he was quickly placed in a New Jersey home — and on a low-carb diet.
