Al Franken

If Democrats have their way, Stewart Smalley may be voting alongside Harry Reid and Hillary Clinton. Franken, a former Saturday Night Live star and best-selling comic author, is locked in a tight U.S. Senate race against incumbent Norm Coleman of Minnesota. The contest is the most expensive Senate race in history. (Click here for a look at the Franken/Coleman match-up.) Franken has tried hard to define himself as a serious politician, but he comes from a long line of actors with zero political experience who have cashed in on their name recognition and likeability to enter politics.
