Chinese Embassy in Yugoslavia

As NATO forces were carrying out air strikes aimed at stopping the Serbian-led genocide in Kosovo, a cruise missile hit the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade, killing three Chinese journalists and wounding about 20. The U.S. said the bombing was accidental and that the embassy was mistakenly on a NATO target list. The Chinese government did not accept the explanation and called for a full-scale investigation. Chinese protesters pelted the U.S. Embassy in Beijing with stones after the bombing.
