Nevada

There's something incredibly American, albeit a bit disconcerting, about the Gun Store in Las Vegas. They have two gods, and two gods only, here: Smith and Wesson. Walk in, scribble your name quickly on a piece of paper, hand over a $50 rental fee and five minutes later, you could be taking target practice with one of the seriously menacing machine guns hanging behind the cash register. AK-47? Here you go. M16? Sure thing. Uzi? Right this way, sir. There's no easier or more fun way to celebrate the second amendment than blowing the hell out of your choice of paper targets. The store also sells all kinds of handguns, rifles, shotguns, ammo and gun-lovers accessories. There are third-world armies that are less well-equipped. 2900 E. Tropicana, Las Vegas; 702-454-1110; rentals: $20 and up for handguns, $50 and up for machine guns.
