Kentucky

If your town has to be known for something, you could do a lot worse than the Bourbon Capital of the World. The people of Bardstown, Ky., have been distilling the brown liquor since 1776, and each year, they throw a big festival to celebrate the drink that has kept more Americans warm than central heating. For five days, visitors are invited to enjoy food, watch live music, and of course, sample bourbons from some of the most famous local distillers, including Jim Beam, Wild Turkey and Maker's Mark. Do look into a designated driver.
