Nobody since Tiger Woods has had such an impact on golf as this young Ulsterman. His eight-shot victory at the U.S. Open last June was undoubtedly remarkable it was the lowest-under-par finish in 111 years and had added resonance, bearing in mind what had happened just a few months earlier. At the Masters, McIlroy took a four-shot lead into the final round, only to blow it. But it's clear there are far more good days than bad ones ahead for him.
