Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) and Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis), three recently unemployed parapsychology professors, start their own ghost-busting business in this 1984 film. At first, customers aren't exactly busting down the door, but the trio get a big break when they successfully capture some ghosts in the basement of a local hotel. As a result, they get a flurry of business either because people are now aware of the new company or because New York City has suddenly developed a serious ghost problem. Whatever the case, the three men become national celebrities and grace the cover of TIME with their "Supernatural Success Story."
