These vibrantlycolored parrots normally breed in South American rainforests, so it is a rare treat to see them in captivity up close. Hatched in early April, the two baby macaws are initially both blind and bald, and will stay with their parents for several months. The featherless babies spend most of the day huddled together to stay warm. But once they are fullgrown, these large, playful birds which can measure up to three feet long from head to tail are very social and intelligent. But you might want to think twice before you consider raising them yourself, however, as they can be aggressive, noisy and high-maintenance all the more reason to glimpse them online instead.
