Drummond has been called the world's luckiest lawyer, and with good reason. After playing football at California's Santa Clara University and attending Stanford Law School, Drummond became a partner at the law firm Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, which in the 1990s assigned him to work with Google's then young co-founders, Sergey Brin and Larry Page. Drummond eventually joined the company and helped lead its IPO. Now he has a leading role in helping the company, and industry, navigate the increasingly hostile regulatory environments in Washington, Brussels and Asia, particularly in China.
