Sir James Dyson is best known for creating a vacuum that never loses suction, but it's his most recent invention, the bladeless fan, that gets the nod. The original bladed fan remained virtually unchanged for 127 years until 2009, when the Air Multiplier debuted, using a turbine in the base to draw in air and redirect it around a halo. Though it made having a fan around a toddler much safer, we're still a little irked that we can no longer rattle off Darth Vader lines.
