Who is the person who had the most effect or influence on you when you were growing up?
I think it had to be my parents: my mother was a strong, brilliant, eccentric, amazingly creative woman, who taught me that I could learn or do anything. And she lived that phrase, "just do it." My father is an intelligent, kind and generous man who taught me the importance of opening your home to others and of treating people of all ages and backgrounds with respect. Both were teachers who loved teaching and learning, and both had wonderful and creative approaches to how they taught. They both lived with integrity, and taught me to live in a way that was consistent with my values. I believe that if there is anything important that I want to achieve, I can make it happen. No limits. And I owe this belief to my parents.
