In Saturday detention, the setting of 1985's The Breakfast Club, Brian Johnson (Anthony Michael Hall) is the "brain." He's so wimpy that John Bender (Judd Nelson), the "rebel," even steals his lunch. As the five students in detention get to know one another, though, they learn Brian is in detention for bringing a flare gun to school, with suicidal intent, because he failed a shop class project. At film's end, he heroically pens the group's required essay which, while well-written, still means that he ended up doing everyone else's work for them. Come on, dude.
