This exquisite Left Bank destination is a must-see for every fashionista visiting Paris. Van Noten conceived of the very personal two-story space as a "home" for his brand and filled it with a panoply of objects found in flea markets. So a Napoleon III Boulle table sits near a 1950s abstract painting by Marc Mendelson and a '70s desk. The idea is to combat what Van Noten calls the sameness of retail formulas with something more in harmony with the surrounding neighborhood. In addition to his luxurious, ethnic-inspired ready-to-wear, Van Noten sells accessories and scarves, plus fragrances by the popular French perfumer Frédéric Malle. It's the kind of store that will make shoppers feel at once right at home and out of this world.
