But with the Franken-Coleman contest now likely to be drawn out even further, the freshman class may not be complete for some time. "The actions today by the canvassing board are but the first step in what, unfortunately, will now have to be a longer process," Coleman said Monday. "This process isn't at the end; it is now just at the beginning." The same could be said for the new Senate, which, despite Obama's claims of postpartisan cooperation, is looking a lot like the old dysfunctional one.
