Gaza Flare-Up
An Israeli Army artillery unit bombards the northern Gaza Strip after a deadline expired for Palestinians to evacuate a new security zone declared by Israel in the far north of Palestinian territory. The security zone is intended to stop rocket attacks into southern Israel. An army spokesperson confirmed troops had opened fire in open fields in the 'no-go zone' after a missile was fired from the area shortly before the deadline
