A photograph of Barrington Irving Jr. is held aloft as people try to get a glimpse of the 23-year-old pilot as he arrives home. Irving became known as the youngest person and first black pilot to circumnavigate the globe solo. He completed the trip in three months aboard the single engine Columbia 400 aircraft named "Inspiration."
