Founded in the late 17th or early 18th century by native Pueblo people fleeing the ravages of the Spanish, Walpi village may be one of the oldest continuously inhabited settlements in the U.S. It's perched on a picturesque rocky mesa in Navajo County, Arizona, and has long been the iconic abode of Pueblo culture. But the town is now threatened by both population flight and the erosions of time.
