The first collection, 1992
In 1992, McQueen's graduate collection from London's Central Saint Martins College so impressed fashion editor and stylist Isabella Blow that she purchased all his pieces for £5,000. This satin coat from the collection, called Jack the Ripper Stalks His Victim, was inspired by the Victorian era, which fascinated McQueen for its "austerity, severity (and) melancholy."
