Beijing National Stadium, a/k/a the Bird's Nest
No one can forget Beijing's memorable opening ceremony for the 2008 Olympic Games, which was held in this building. Though famous Chinese artist Ai Weiwei served as a consultant, Swiss architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron made lasting contributions as the architects of this distinguishing structure. Ingrained in the minds of many, it remains one of the top sights to see when visiting Beijing.
