Italian Earthquake Tragedy

Firefighters work early morning on a collapsed school following an earthquake in San Giuliano di Puglia on October 31, 2002. Rescuers were able to pull a child alive from the wreckage 24 hours after it was flattened by a powerful earthquake which struck southern Italy. A total of 29 people, including 26 children and a teacher at the school were killed when the building fell in.
