Caught in the Crossfire

Hamidullah Gul, injured during the U.S.-led military strikes in Afghanistan, lies in a hospital bed in Quetta, Pakistan, Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001. The boy and members of his family were injured in their home in Rozgan Wiliat, an outlying district of the southern Afghan city of Kandahar, a Taliban stronghold that has come under round-the-clock bombardment.
