Honda CR-Z
Squeezed onto one of Honda's small-car platforms, the CR-Z has only two usable seats, with some space for packages, sporting gear or small bits of luggage under the hatch. But the hybrid power train boosts fuel economy and performance, giving the vehicle the feel and punch of a sports car. Honda has made the car's hybrid power train nearly invisible to the driver when it is in motion, while the exterior has one of the carmaker's stronger designs, emphasizing the car's modernity and underlying power. It was recently named Japan's "Car of The Year" for 2010. Prices start at $19,000.
