Village women are used to transport bamboo and tendu leaves through the NDMC mine in Kirandul town, India. In February 2006, Maoist insurgents raided the mine for explosives, killing eight Central Industrial Security Force personnel in the process. It was a typical attack for the Naxalites, who often seize explosives from government or corporate targets to protest land taken over for industrial use.
