Snyder v. Phelps (2010)
On Oct. 6, the Supreme Court will begin hearing arguments in docket 09-751, wherein the Westboro Baptist Church, led by Fred Phelps, above right, was sued by the family of a Marine slain in Iraq, whose funeral Phelps and his congregation picketed in 2006, bearing signs that said, "You're Going to Hell" and "God Hates Fags" among other hateful statements. (This photo was similarly taken at the funeral of soldier killed in Iraq in 2005.)
