Growth Industry
In 1999, Renault bought the Dacia company and expanded it aggressively. New models like the Logan, above, were produced and marketed in the countries where Renault did business. The car's extraordinarily low price helped it find thousands of buyers in Germany, France and Italy. In 2009, the company sold 200,000 units in Western Europe; worldwide, its sales increased more than 20% from the previous year.
