Lighting the Way
The Yeomen of the Guard carry their lanterns as they start their ceremonial search in the Palace of Westminster's vaults. This is a ceremonial nod to their predecessors some 405 years ago, on the morning of November 5, 1605, when they thwarted the infamous Gun Powder Plot of Guy Fawkes. How times change: the Yeomen of 2010 even have their own website.
