The National Historic Trust estimates that over 400 of the nation's state parks could close as a result of budget cuts to parks and other sites, like Montana de Oro State Park, California, above. Among the other sites on this list are Revolutionary War forts, Civil War battlefields, country estates and Native American historic sites that welcome an estimated 725 million visitors a year.
