On May 7, four new stars will bring some serious awwwwww to the Hollywood box office with Babies. Director Thomas Balmes follows the lives of four babies from separate corners of the planet — Ponijao (Opuwo, Namibia), Bayarjargal (Mongolia near Bayanchandmani), Mari (Tokyo) and Hattie (San Francisco). Balmes chronicles their lives from birth to tentative first steps as if the four were one child — proving that toothless smiles and accidental mishandling of family pets are universal baby occurrences.
