On her first solo trip overseas since becoming first lady, Michelle Obama made a surprise stop in Haiti before her scheduled three-day visit to Mexico. The trip to Haiti was meant to reaffirm America's commitment to the Caribbean nation, while her trip to Mexico is to promote her effort to inspire and engage youth around the world. Obama received a warm welcome from dozens of children waving miniature U.S. and Mexican flags when her plane landed in Mexico.
