In January 1969, the group began rehearsals at Twickenham Studios in London. The sessions were very productive — in the first month alone, the band played 52 original songs, several of which would end up on Abbey Road — but old tensions surfaced quickly. "Paul would be rather overbossy, which the other boys would dislike," George Martin later said. At one point, George grew so irritated with John that he walked out.
