Hopper's first big screen role came in the legendary Rebel Without a Cause where he played Goon, lelft, a tough-talking hoodlum who tortures James Dean's character, Jim Stark. During filming he and Dean became good friends. Hopper also took a supporting role in the young star's last film, Giant.
